Animoca Brands’ Publisher NFTs Surpass Expectations and Sell Out

Animoca Brands, the parent company of edtech platform TinyTap, announced the unprecedented success of Season 2 of its Publisher NFTs. The recent revelation disclosed that all 720 Publisher NFTs had sold out, bringing in an impressive 538,560 EDU tokens, equivalent to approximately $315,517 at the time of sale.

The success of Season 2 follows on the heels of a previously sold-out batch of six TinyTap Publisher NFTs in November 2022. The first batch generated 138.926 ETH, approximately $228,000 at the time of sale, with the six educators linked to the NFTs collectively earning 67.7 ETH, equivalent to approximately $111,000 at the time of sale.

Animoca’s Financial Support for Educators

The Publisher NFTs were created by TinyTap and facilitated by the Web3 education protocol, Open Campus. The proceeds from the NFT sales will provide a substantial source of upfront and ongoing revenue for the 168 educators on the TinyTap platform. This initiative was initially introduced by TinyTap to offer better rights and support to content creators in the field of education and publishing.

Implications of Digital Assets in Education

The introduction of Publisher NFTs has significantly transformed the educational sector. The NFTs enable content creators to focus on generating more educational material while also allowing the NFT holders to become co-publishers of the content, receiving up to 80% of the revenue share. This innovative approach grants creators greater autonomy and increased earnings.

Yogev Shelly, CEO of TinyTap, emphasized the broader impact of the recent NFT sales, stating that it signifies more than just a financial opportunity for creators. Shelly believes that it represents a significant step towards establishing educational autonomy and empowering teachers and content creators.

Supporting Educational Autonomy

TinyTap, established in 2012, has evolved to become the world’s largest educational games library. The platform has collaborated with renowned publishers such as Oxford University Press, Sesame Street, Pinkfong, and many others.

In conclusion, the successful sale of Season 2 of TinyTap’s Publisher NFTs not only signifies a significant financial milestone but also underscores a significant step in reshaping the landscape of educational content creation, distribution, and ownership. The revenue generated will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on supporting and empowering educators in the educational technology space.
